It stretches from the other side of Emilio Bar\u00f3 Street to Alfahuir Avenue. Alfahuir used to be the old road that led to Alboraya. Today it constitutes the administrative limit of the barrio. But these places have always been intimately linked to our collective memory.<\/p>\n<div class=\"texto\">\n<p>We start out from Torreta de Miramar Street, near the corner of Dolores Marqu\u00e9s Street. This is the street that is named for an old and much loved farmhouse of Benimaclet, <a title=\"Granja de Miramar\" href=\"http:\/\/benimacletconta.com\/en\/torreta-miramar\/\" target=\"_blank\">GRANJA DE MIRAMAR,<\/a> Its name was <strong><b>TORRETA DE MIRAMAR,<\/b><\/strong> and it is remembered for its typical rural Valencian construction with a view of the Mediterranean Sea.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\" data-created_by=\"avia_inline_auto\" id=\"style-css-av-av_one_half-9c1d454dc06f7247226bc4e8f931daae\">\n.flex_column.av-av_one_half-9c1d454dc06f7247226bc4e8f931daae{\nborder-radius:0px 0px 0px 0px;\n-webkit-border-radius:0px 0px 0px 0px;\n-moz-border-radius:0px 0px 0px 0px;\n}\n<\/style>\n<div class='flex_column av-av_one_half-9c1d454dc06f7247226bc4e8f931daae av_one_half  avia-builder-el-4  el_after_av_one_half  el_before_av_textblock  flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding column-top-margin'   ><style type=\"text\/css\" data-created_by=\"avia_inline_auto\" id=\"style-css-av-av_image-b8f86cab4e1e5de803ccdd16eb9599e8\">\n.avia-image-container.av-av_image-b8f86cab4e1e5de803ccdd16eb9599e8 .av-image-caption-overlay-center{\ncolor:#ffffff;\n}\n<\/style>\n<div  class='avia-image-container av-av_image-b8f86cab4e1e5de803ccdd16eb9599e8 av-styling- avia-align-center  avia-builder-el-5  avia-builder-el-no-sibling '  itemprop=\"image\" itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/ImageObject\" ><div class=\"avia-image-container-inner\"><div class=\"avia-image-overlay-wrap\"><a href=\"http:\/\/benimacletconta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/MAPA-RUTA-04-OESTEweb-1030x780.jpg\" data-srcset=\"http:\/\/benimacletconta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/MAPA-RUTA-04-OESTEweb-1030x780.jpg 1030w, http:\/\/benimacletconta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/MAPA-RUTA-04-OESTEweb-300x227.jpg 300w, http:\/\/benimacletconta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/MAPA-RUTA-04-OESTEweb-768x582.jpg 768w, http:\/\/benimacletconta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/MAPA-RUTA-04-OESTEweb-705x534.jpg 705w, http:\/\/benimacletconta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/MAPA-RUTA-04-OESTEweb-450x341.jpg 450w, http:\/\/benimacletconta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/MAPA-RUTA-04-OESTEweb.jpg 1200w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 1030px) 100vw, 1030px\" class='avia_image' ><img class='wp-image-3721 avia-img-lazy-loading-not-3721 avia_image' src=\"http:\/\/benimacletconta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/MAPA-RUTA-04-OESTEweb-495x400.jpg\" alt='' title='MAPA-RUTA-04-OESTEweb'  height=\"400\" width=\"495\"  itemprop=\"thumbnailUrl\" srcset=\"http:\/\/benimacletconta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/MAPA-RUTA-04-OESTEweb-495x400.jpg 495w, http:\/\/benimacletconta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/MAPA-RUTA-04-OESTEweb-845x684.jpg 845w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 495px) 100vw, 495px\" \/><\/a><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-av_textblock-0366cc7376be6c9e82a3e9cc8987b64f'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p><!--:es--><\/p>\n<p><!--:--><!--:en--><\/p>\n<p>We continue west along this street, cross Dolores Marqu\u00e9s and come to the school, <a title=\"Colegio Carles Salvador\" href=\"http:\/\/benimacletconta.com\/en\/colegio-carles-salvador\/\" target=\"_blank\">COLEGIO CARLES SALVADOR,<\/a> that is named for the famous Valencian poet that used to live and work in Benimaclet.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ppal\">\n<div class=\"texto\">\n<p>A bit further on, where the school fence ends, we turn right on Viver Street, to get to the former farmhouse <a title=\"Alquer\u00eda La Pur\u00edsima\" href=\"http:\/\/benimacletconta.com\/en\/alqueria-la-purisima\/\" target=\"_blank\">ALQUER\u00cdA DE LA PUR\u00cdSIMA,<\/a>. It has been recently restored and is now a day centre for disabled elderly people.<\/p>\n<p>At Valladolid Avenue we turn left to Alfahuir Avenue and arrive at the approximate location of the former railway station, <strong><b>ESTACI\u00d3N DE SAN LORENZO, <\/b><\/strong>which was a stop for the \u201c<em><i>trenet<\/i><\/em>\u201d (little train) that ran between Valencia and its northern orchard area.<\/p>\n<p>We cross Alfahuir Avenue and continue towards Alboraya along this major street with heavy traffic until we get close to Jos\u00e9 Chab\u00e1s Street, situated between blocks of flats surrounded by high fences and security guards.<\/p>\n<p>We are now in the new part of the Orriols neighbourhood and we can do nothing but regret this unfortunate urban model, so different from both the traditional and the modern city; it is a model that negates the value of the street as a meeting place and that has surfaced during the years of the building boom.<\/p>\n<p>Just before coming upon the much-loved stadium<strong><b> ESTADIO CIUTAT DE VALENCIA<\/b><\/strong> \u2013which belongs to LEVANTE UD. and was designed by the great Valencian architect Juan Jos\u00e9 Estell\u00e9s, but is today hidden behind a shopping centre \u2013 we arrive at the high school <a title=\"Instituto Rascanya - Antonio Ca\u00f1uelo\" href=\"http:\/\/benimacletconta.com\/en\/instituto-rascanya\/\" target=\"_blank\">IES RASCANYA-ANTONIO CA\u00d1UELO,<\/a> a work by J. M. Barrera, recently finished.<\/p>\n<p>We pass the high school on the Ronda Nord side (Ronda Nord is the new traffic bypass of Valencia) and come upon the multipurpose building <a title=\"Centro Multiusos\" href=\"http:\/\/benimacletconta.com\/en\/centro-multiusos\/\" target=\"_blank\">CENTRO MULTIUSOS DE BENIMACLET,<\/a> by M. Cerd\u00e1 and J. Asensi. It houses several of the services required by Benimaclet. Beside the northern entrance to this building, an old Gingko Biloba tree has been planted. From here we return towards our starting point along Emilio Bar\u00f3 Street in the direction of Valencia.<\/p>\n<p>Just before a famous <em><i>horchata<\/i><\/em> (tiger nut milk drink) parlour (<em><i>horchater\u00eda<\/i><\/em>), we find the site where Benimaclet residents continue to demand the construction of a new health centre. It has been promised but seems to be postponed forever. An official sign is the silent witness to this situation.<\/p>\n<p>A few blocks further on we find the so-called potato warehouse, <a href=\"http:\/\/benimacletconta.com\/la-patatera\/\">LA PATATERA,<\/a> which used to be the Pach\u00e1 discotheque and later the Arena Auditorium.
